Fall means events at Goddard Riverside: especially the Gala, Book Fair and Book Bash. Last year we took them online due to the COVID pandemic. Now they’re back in person, with measures designed to keep you safe.
Annual Gala: We’ve booked the Gala for Monday, October 18. This year’s Gala will take place at Monarch Rooftop, a spacious indoor/outdoor lounge bar with stunning views of the Empire State Building and Midtown Manhattan. We’re limiting attendance and practicing social distancing, and proof of vaccination is required to attend. Tickets are going fast so get yours now!
Book Fair: The Book Fair will be held at our headquarters, 593 Columbus Avenue (and 88th Street). You can once again browse our tables of brand-new fiction, biographies, cookbooks, mysteries, etc., all at 50% off! We’ll have attendance limits and one-way foot traffic in place to enhance safety. Proof of vaccination or a negative test will be required. Volunteers are needed for our Book Sorts on October 16 and November 13 and during Book Fair weekend, November 19-21! Sign up here.
Book Bash: As always, the Bash raises money to support our programs while also giving partygoers first crack at the Book Sale! It will be held in person at 593 Columbus with a vaccination requirement and reduced attendance. Stay tuned for ticket information!
Holiday Meals: Every year on Thanksgiving and Christmas, Goddard’s Holiday Meals dishes out turkey with all the trimmings to more than 1,000 guests. Last year the Holiday Meals delivered hundreds of meals while making hundreds more available for pickup. This year we will once again focus on pickup and delivery. Volunteer opportunities will be available—watch your email!
We hope to see you this fall!
