Nancy Brandon — The Accidental Artist: Joy & Cohesion in Black Life
93-year-old artist Nancy Brandon is a lifelong New Yorker and a frequent presence in the streets of the Upper West Side. She is often seen strolling on her way to an event at our Bernie Wohl Center (BWC). Her career retrospective solo exhibition was on view at BWC all of March 2024, as part of the Community Arts Program‘s annual W.H.A.M. Festival celebrating the female visionaries in our local arts scene throughout International Women’s Month.
Goddard Riverside Homeless Outreach (2023)
Learn about our efforts in ensuring that New Yorkers in need have stable and affordable housing.
Our programs fight homelessness on many fronts. The Law Project prevents homelessness by helping tenants stay in their apartments and advocate for their rights. Homeless Outreach works with people living on the streets, helping them transition into permanent housing. Our supportive housing residences provide services to help people stay housed and reconnect with family and community.

We serve more than 20,000 New Yorkers each year with programs ranging from Early Childhood Education to Older Adult Centers to Homeless Outreach to Behavioral Health and more!
