Over the weekend, WNYC Radio rode along with Goddard Riverside’s Manhattan Outreach Consortium (MOC) as they conducted street outreach to homeless clients during bitterly cold weather conditions. Listen to the full story below:
During the winter we work with the city as part of its Code Blue policy. When the weather reaches a certain cold threshold, a code blue is activated. Our teams then set aside most other duties and spend a majority of time canvassing the streets to check on homeless individuals that have been previously designated as more vulnerable in this extreme weather.
We remain committed to the safety and well being of individuals who need us most — especially the most vulnerable populations who don’t have a safe place to call home.
