NEW YORK, NY – Goddard Riverside Community Center has received its sixth consecutive four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the leading charity evaluating organization in the United States. The rating, Charity Navigator’s highest, is given to nonprofits that practice exceptional fiscal responsibility and governance in fulfilling their mission.
In his letter to Goddard Riverside, CEO Ken Berger states “Only 3% of the charities we rate have received at least six consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that Goddard Riverside Community Center outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Goddard Riverside Community Center from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
Goddard Riverside, a modern day settlement house, dates back more than 100 years and has been one of New York City’s leading human service organizations, meeting the essential needs of more than 17,000 individuals each year. Goddard Riverside is an advocate for the interests of its community members, as well as a provider of a continuum of vital services, including food and shelter programs, assistance for homeless and mentally ill men and women, and comprehensive educational, cultural and recreational programs for adults and children.

Our staff, volunteers and board are dedicated to using our resources wisely and for the benefit of the individuals and families who use our services,” said Stephan Russo, Executive Director of Goddard Riverside.
