Housing Development Rooted in Service
Goddard Real Estate Development LLC (GRED) partners with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and mission-aligned stakeholders to develop and steward high-quality supportive and affordable housing. As an affiliate of Goddard Riverside, we bring a service-informed perspective to development, ensuring that housing is thoughtfully designed, responsibly managed, and positioned to support long-term community stability.
Through this work, Goddard Riverside’s housing portfolio provides safe, affordable homes for some of New York City’s most vulnerable populations, including older adults, individuals who have experienced homelessness, and people living with mental illness.
About GRED
Goddard Real Estate Development LLC is an affiliated entity of Goddard Riverside, established to develop, own, and steward supportive and affordable housing. Operating in close alignment with Goddard Riverside’s social service mission, GRED ensures that housing development is informed by service delivery, resident needs, and long-term community impact.
What We Do
- Development of supportive and affordable housing
- Long-term ownership and stewardship of housing assets
- Collaboration with nonprofit, public-sector, and mission-aligned partners
- Integration of housing with on-site or coordinated services
Supportive housing is permanent, affordable housing paired with on-site or coordinated support services designed to help individuals and families remain stably housed. It serves people who have experienced homelessness or face ongoing barriers to housing stability, such as health challenges, disabilities, or economic insecurity.
Residents hold their own leases and are not required to participate in services to maintain housing. Instead, supportive housing offers voluntary, person-centered services — such as case management, mental health support, and connections to community resources — that promote long-term stability, independence, and well-being.
