What are Donor-Advised Funds?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible charitable giving option administered by a third party such as a community foundation or financial services company. A donor transfers cash or other assets to the DAF and recommends how that money is granted to qualified charitable organizations such as Goddard Riverside.
Benefits of donations through DAFs include
- An immediate tax deduction upon contributing.
- The option to grant specific amounts to the charities of your choice at a later time.
- A centralized record-keeping system.
