What are Donor-Advised Funds?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible charitable giving option administered by a third party such as a community foundation or financial services company. A donor transfers cash or other assets to the DAF and recommends how that money is granted to qualified charitable organizations such as Goddard Riverside.

How can I donate from my DAF to Goddard Riverside?
Simply contact your DAF administrator to make arrangements. Funds are usually sent directly to Goddard Riverside by your DAF Administrator. You can also designate Goddard Riverside as a future beneficiary of all or part of your Donor Advised Fund.
What are the benefits of donating through a DAF?
Benefits include:
- You receive an immediate tax deduction upon contributing to the DAF.
- The DAF manages and invests the contributed funds, providing tax-free growth.
- You can grant specific amounts to the charities of your choice at a later time as scheduled gifts or part of a legacy.
- Anyone can do it! Some national DAFs have no minimum to start a fund.
Are DAF donations tax-deductible?
Yes! You receive an immediate tax deduction upon contributing to your fund. Your contributions are invested by the sponsoring organization and grow tax-free.
