Goddard Riverside has been investing in people and strengthening community on the Upper West Side since 1934. Our programs include Early Childhood Education, After School, youth programs, tutoring, college access and success, job training, mental health, homeless outreach, supportive and transitional housing for people who have previously experienced homelessness, Senior Centers, and older adult housing.
We have grown and changed over the years to meet the needs of the neighborhood. In the 1980s we launched innovative programs to address homelessness and helped create the Housing First Model, which is now the national standard. Later we merged with other local nonprofits because we recognized the importance of their programs and wanted to continue them.
