After School Programs

The After School Program at Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. The program is designed to cultivate appreciation of the arts, build self-esteem, and broaden the children’s outlook on the world – and, in turn, on their own potential. The program runs from September through mid-June and serves kindergartners through sixth-graders.

The program operates during the school year, running from Monday through Friday, with hours from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Additionally, it offers full-day programming on selected school holidays. The program provides escort services for students attending neighboring schools such as P.S. 199, P.S. 452, and the Special Music School. Parents also have the option to drop off their children.

• Recreational Activities
• Organized Sports
• Project Based Learning (PBL)
• Reading and writing enrichment

These programs support academic success in their daily activities and offer circulating libraries to encourage reading. They also refer children to our one-on-one tutoring program at the Star Learning Center. These affordable programs are licensed by the New York City Department of Health.

The After School Program at the Goddard Riverside Beacon Program provides programming from September through early June, serving kindergartners through eighth-graders with support for academic achievement through regular homework sessions and study-skills development. The program operates daily M-F, 2:30 pm–6:00 pm.

The program supports social-emotional growth through group activities and theme-based projects. These are some of the activities offered year-round: 

Registration for the 2024-2024 school year will begin in early September online through discoverDYCD. Enrollment is guided by our capacity. We have limited space, so we encourage families to register as soon as possible. The quickest and most efficient way to secure a spot is apply through the discoverDYCD website.

3. To register, you will have to log in or create a new log in.

You’ll receive an email from discoverDYCD with your after school placement. If you are placed into our program, you must provide a health form dated within one (1) year (PDF available below).
