New York Book Fair

The annual New York Book Fair is our biggest fundraiser. We need volunteers to unpack and sort donated books, set them out on tables and sell, sell, sell. To volunteer, click here.

Holiday Meals

Every Thanksgiving and Christmas over 1,000 New Yorkers, including many who are homeless, share a meal at Goddard Riverside. These extraordinary community celebrations are made possible with help from volunteers who contribute in a variety of ways – from the overall planning to preparing food and serving it to dropping off a special dessert. If you would like to help out by volunteering, donating a cooked turkey or a dessert, or by making a financial contribution, click here or contact the Holiday Meals Committee at (212) 873-6600, ext. 305 or holidaymeals@goddard.org.

Star Learning Center

The Star Learning Center offers one-to-one tutoring for second to 12th grades in all subjects: Monday and Wednesday, 3-7pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-6pm. Volunteers must sign up for 2 hours per week–either one, two-hour session or two, one-hour sessions. No special skills are needed, but the minimum requirements are a high school student and a love for children. Location is at 26 West 84th Street.

Goodies for Goddard

Every crumb counts! Goodies for Goddard is a city-wide, dollar-by-dollar fund raising initiative.  We are calling on all our friends and neighbors to sponsor bake sales (live or virtual) with all the proceeds benefiting Goddard Riverside Community Center.  MORE
