I am an NYU Gallatin graduate that specializes in accessibility in art education, and I currently have a career in children’s programming at the Brooklyn Public Library. I am a mixed media artist that is deeply connected to painting, embroidery and beading, collage, and, as of late, ceramics. I am inspired by children’s literature and media, as well as the rituals and values of childhood. I also take inspiration from the surreal, the supernatural, and the mythological. I like to use a lot of color and texture in my work, and sometimes that means it comes across a bit cartoonish, which I believe only reflects my joy and enthusiasm for my subjects and my process. I hope you enjoy diving into a quirky landscape of color when exploring my art.

This piece was inspired by Maurice Sendak’s first book, “Kenny’s Window.” I wanted to capture the feeling of lying awake at night as a child with my eyes wide open, imagining a dreamscape swirling through my window.
