On June 13, 2013 the Options Center honored 14 young men and women, whose exceptional academic and community achievements earned them scholarships from the college access program, during a special awards ceremony at the Goddard Riverside Senior Center.
Eight students earned the Promise of the Future scholarship; four students earned the Lester Martin Options Scholarship; while the Fannie Eisenstein Options Scholarship went to student Ashley Perez and the Joe Janovic Options Scholarship went to Bria Culpepper.
The students were accompanied by their proud families, as well as their Options counselors, scholarship committee members, and other Goddard Riverside staff and supporters. Options alumna Anna Gabriela Urizar spoke, as well as scholarship committee Florence Janovic, for whose son the Joe Janovic scholarship is named, and Goddard Riverside executive director Stephan Russo.
