On Friday, May 10, Goddard Riverside’s Senior Center will transform into a runway for the center’s inaugural Fashion Walk event. Eighteen members of the senior center – all aged 65 and above – will model runway fashions designed by Milla Bell, a 30-year fashion veteran and designer. This event will be a celebration of spring fashion and a pre-Mother’s Day event for members of the center.
For some of the models, this event will be a throwback to their previous careers in the fashion and entertainment industries. Former professional model and actress Marie Wallace-Pollack, known best for her role in the 1960s soap opera Dark Shadows, is an active member of Goddard’s Senior Center and is excited to return to the runway after nearly 30 years.
Designer Milla Bell will donate her designs to each of the models, and is thrilled to partner with Goddard Riverside for this event. Inspired to celebrate her own mother, Milla has created an opportunity for the senior ladies of the center to experience glamour, fashion and fun for a day. The show will also feature music by Larry LeBow.
This event is free and open to the public, however space is limited. For more information, contact Chris Wheeler at 212-873-6600, ext 333.
