Building Strength on Both Sides of the Park: Goddard Riverside, Isaacs Center Merge

Goddard Riverside and the Isaacs Center are excited to announce that we have formally merged as of June 2025. We launched our partnership nearly four years ago with a sense that our goals and strengths complemented each other—and that sense has only grown as we’ve become one team.

“The Isaacs Center had a great unifying philosophy, the idea of No Wrong Door, which we’ve adopted across the whole organization—that no matter when and where someone comes to us for help, they will get it,” said our president, Roderick L. Jones. “We each had strengths in youth programming, and we each had holes that the other organization could fill. Now we’re offering young people multiple pathways to adulthood. We’ve also built on our shared experience in food services to expand Meals on Wheels.”

Now that the merger is official, we plan to continue strengthening our programs and working together to uplift the voices of participants throughout Northern Manhattan and in Queens.

Here are answers to some questions you may have.

Will programs at either organization change or be cut?

You won’t see any changes to programs. Since 2022, the two organizations have been working together with fully combined staff and services. We will keep working to improve and coordinate our programs across all our locations.

Will anyone lose their job?

No. Because the staffs have already merged, we don’t expect any job cuts.

What differences will I notice?

During the next year, we’ll change our signs and materials at the Isaacs Center to show both the Goddard Riverside and Isaacs Center logos. After that, we’ll introduce a single, shared logo for the Isaacs Center.

Can I still donate to just Goddard or just the Isaacs Center?

Yes. You can still choose to have your gift go directly to either center by filling out the Note box on your donation form.

Why did the two organizations merge? Are there financial problems?

No, both organizations are in good financial shape—and can now take advantage of economies of scale as a single agency.
