I am an NYU Gallatin graduate that specializes in accessibility in art education, and I currently have a career in children’s programming at the Brooklyn Public Library. I am a mixed media artist that is deeply connected to painting, embroidery and beading, collage, and, as of late, ceramics. I am inspired by children’s literature and media, as well as the rituals and values of childhood. I also take inspiration from the surreal, the supernatural, and the mythological. I like to use a lot of color and texture in my work, and sometimes that means it comes across a bit cartoonish, which I believe only reflects my joy and enthusiasm for my subjects and my process. I hope you enjoy diving into a quirky landscape of color when exploring my art.

Inspired by Maurice Sendak’s first book, “Kenny’s Window.” It is a self-portrait that references the spiritual guide of the story, a four-footed-rooster, that appears to be passing me by. This painting considers faith, the self, and faith in myself.
