[NEW YORK, New York, November 9, 2021]—After going online-only last year due to COVID, the Goddard Riverside Book Fair is returning to in-person shopping. The beloved Upper West Side event will offer brand-new books for half price November 20 and 21 at Goddard Riverside’s headquarters, 593 Columbus (and 88).
“Shoppers tell us the Book Fair isn’t just about books—it’s about seeing friends and enjoying a holiday tradition,” said Goddard Riverside Executive Director Roderick L. Jones. “We’re excited to welcome the community back to browse the tables.”
The Book Fair will open from 10 AM to 5 PM both days. Admission is free. All shoppers must show proof of COVID vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours to enter. In addition, there will be a one-way flow through the building, and masks will be required at all times.
As usual, Book Fair weekend will kick off with a Book Bash on Friday night. This ticketed event offers a chance to beat the crowds while enjoying cocktails and hors d’ouevres. Proof of vaccination is required for the Bash. Tickets are available at goddard.org/bookbash2021.
The Fair, now in its 35th year, is a partnership between Goddard Riverside and the publishing industry. Publishers donate the books, and the proceeds support Goddard’s programs for the community—from Early Childhood Education and After School to homeless outreach, housing, Older Adult Centers and more. “We’re grateful to the book industry, which has been a huge supporter of our programs for decades,” said Jones.
