Staff from Goddard Riverside Community Center’s Manhattan Outreach Consortium (MOC), along with volunteers from across the city, came together on Monday February 9, 2015 for the annual HOPE Count, a point-in-time estimate conducted every year citywide by the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) since 2005. The survey is conducted to produce an estimate of the total number of individuals living unsheltered in New York City.
From the hours of 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., 38 staff members from Goddard’s Manhattan Outreach Consortium spent their overnight hours on the streets, conducting surveys and outreach, collecting the vital information that will inform the necessary solutions to combat homelessness.
Our teams look forward to learning the results of the survey and are deeply committed to continuing the work that will get people off the streets and into safe housing.
