About Do The Write Thing: DO THE WRITE THING is our FREE in-person drop-in community writing workshop series for Black women (18+). No matter your writing experience, if you’ve got a story inside of you, you’re a writer! So join The Make Good Project as we come together to create and share work inspired by a different theme each month. Notebooks, pens, and light morning refreshments are provided.

No registration required – Just walk in!

About the organization: The Make Good Project was founded to amplify and fortify the voices of Black women as storytellers, archivists, and visionaries. Guided by the pillars of creativity, community, and wellness, we provide spaces and resources that empower women to share their stories and realize their artistic visions. Our programming includes annual writers’ retreats, professional development opportunities, writing workshops, and community events— all designed to nurture and uplift the rich diaspora of Black voices.

Our exciting new partnership is underway!  Everybody Sing NYC’s mission is to foster and promote the art of choral music in a community-focused setting that welcomes all who wish to join. Independent singers of all ages and abilities enjoy a supportive community with an education component.

Join the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.

Open auditions are available for young people entering grades 3 – 6. No prior training is required. Rehearsals begin in the fall.

Ballet & Dance Classes for Youth

Goddard Riverside’s Beacon and Community Arts programs are proud to partner with Ballet and Beyond NYC to offer FREE ballet and dance classes to youth during the school year (September to June).

Students can choose from the following classes: Basic Ballet, Intermediate Ballet, Basic Modern, Intermediate Modern, and Intermediate Hip Hop.

Your child must be in first grade or higher to join. This is a technique-driven program.

To register, please complete an online registration form and a DYCD form (download below). Both forms must be completed in order to register.
