Organization leaders and community members rallied in response to Mayor Eric Adam’s plans for Clubhouses and HIV and AIDS. New contracts have put multiple Clubhouses and their residents at risk, including TOP at Goddard Riverside. Speaking at the rally, NYC Council Member Gale A. Brewer stated: “Clubhouses have improved the lives of countless New Yorkers, and their success is inextricably linked to the diverse network of facilities that have served as reliable anchors in local communities for decades, such as the TOPS Clubhouse at Goddard Riverside in my district.” Mayor Eric Adams’s new contract could end funding for these Club Houses as early as September of 2024.
