Community Services for Children and Adults of all Ages
The Westside Beacon Program hosts enriching and exciting activities for all ages! Registration required. Registration is available online through DYCD Connect or in person with a paper application.
Below is the current schedule for our Beacon Program on the Upper West Side. Unless indicated otherwise, the majority of their programming takes place at the Joan of Arc School.
West Side Beacon Evening/Saturday Programming
Mondays
- Teen Works: 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Ballet and Beyond NYC – Intermediate Ballet: 6 pm – 7:30 pm (Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Ave.) *B&B Interest form Required First
- Morella Soccer: 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Tuesdays
- Teen Works: 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Ballet and Beyond NYC – Modern Dance: 6 pm – 7:30 pm (Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Ave.) *B&B Interest form Required First
- Team Next Play: 6 pm – 9 pm
- Drumming: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm every other week for Adults/Seniors (Art room)
Wednesdays
- Teen Works: 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Ladies Who Hoop: 6 pm – 9 pm for Adults (Basement gym)
- Team Next Play: 6 pm – 9 pm (Second Floor Gym)
- Elephant Soccer: 6 pm – 9 pm for grades K-8 (2nd floor gym)
Thursdays
- Teen Works: 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Ballet and Beyond NYC – Intermediate Ballet: 6 pm – 7:30 pm (Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Ave.) *B&B Interest form Required First
- Elephant Soccer: 6 pm – 7:15 pm for ages 6-11-year-olds and 7:15 pm – 8:45 pm for ages 12 to 16 year-olds (2nd floor gym)
- Team Next Play: 6 pm – 9 pm (Second Floor Gym)
Fridays
- Teen Works: 6 pm – 7:30 pm
- Ladies Who Hoop: 6 pm – 9 pm for Adults only (Basement gym)
- Futsal (Soccer): 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm for Grades K-5 and 7:30 pm – 9 pm for Grades 6-12 (2nd-floor gym)
- Kultural Krochet: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on 2nd and 4th of each month for all ages (Art room)
- Family Movie Night: 5:30 pm – 7 pm on the 3rd Friday
- Zumba: 6:30 pm – 8:30pm
Saturdays
- Morella Soccer: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Ballet and Beyond NYC: Basic Ballet at 10 am – 11 am; Ballet 2 at 11 am – 12:15 pm; Intermediate Ballet at 12:15 pm – 1:45 pm (Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Ave.) *B&B Interest form Required First
- Ladies Who Hoop: 12 pm – 2 pm for 2nd to 8th graders and 2 pm – 4 pm (Basement gym)
- Creative Stage: Dancing Moms 9 am – 12 pm
- Autism Community Theatre: 12 pm – 2 pm (Auditorium)
