Goddard Riverside Executive Director Roderick Jones was honored as a nonprofit leader by the Lawyers Alliance for New York last night.
Jones was introduced at the online gala by the president of Goddard’s Board, Chris Auguste.
“Rod believes that by lifting up individuals and communities the entire city becomes a more just and equitable place to live and work,” said Auguste. “A man of integrity, humanity and vision, he inspires us all to work as hard as he does to improve the lives of New Yorkers.”
Jones reiterated Goddard’s mission of investing in people and strengthening community. He thanked the Alliance for its help in pursuing those goals. “We can say with certainty that Lawyers Alliance has become part of our family,” he said. “Without you I’m not sure we’d be able to do what we do.”
The Lawyers Alliance provides pro bono legal services for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that are improving the quality of life in New York City neighborhoods. It has helped Goddard with several projects in recent years including the refinancing of Phelps house and the merger with Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center.
