Goddard Riverside’s annual Reach for the Sky Spring Cocktail Party & Auction, hosted by the Spring Auction Committee, is our major spring fund raiser. The 2012 party was held at Rooftop 760 in the Copacabana Times Square on May 9th. Creative cocktails and fabulous food were featured, but the true highlight of the night was the auction. Our live and silent auctions sent guests home with an amazing array of prizes from trips to weekend getaways, wine tastings, personal chef services, luxury items, hard-to-get tickets, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

All proceeds from this event support Goddard Riverside and its Options Center. This vital program helps young people – manyof whom face big challenges in life – achieve their dreams to attend college. As Kristina, one of our Options alumna, said in her speech,” I hope Options continues its work, especially in underserved communities where obtaining a college degree seems intangible.” Options annually provides individual college counseling to 200 high school seniors, and reaches another 1,000 youth with a variety of activities related to college access including financial aid workshops, free college visits, and preparation for placement tests and college interviews.
